These photographs grew out of my long walks, something I’ve always enjoyed. Time spent wandering through the countryside or along the coast allows me to pause from the busy life in the city. I’m drawn to silence, openness, emptiness. Most of these images were made in the UK, where I live, and some in Trancoso, Brazil, a place I often return to.
